Amusement Parks, Islands of Adventure
Fodor's Review:
The creators of Islands of Adventure (IOA) brought theme-park attractions to a new level. From Marvel Super Hero Island and Toon Lagoon to Seuss Landing, Jurassic Park, and the Lost Continent, almost everything is impressive, and the shows, attractions, and at times the rides can even out-Disney Disney.
The park's five theme islands, connected by walkways, are arranged around a large central lagoon. The waterside is a good place to relax, either as a way to escape crowds or to recuperate from an adrenaline-surging coaster.
After passing the turnstiles, you've arrived at the Port of Entry plaza. This international bazaar brings together bits and pieces of architecture, landscaping, music, and wares from many lands: you may see Dutch windmills, Indonesian pedicabs, African masks, and Egyptian figurines. But don't stop here. Head directly for the massive archway inscribed with the notice the adventure begins. You won't be disappointed.
