The reputation of Miami and Miami Beach as playgrounds for the hip and famous is well deserved-the nightlife here some of the best on the planet. SoBe (South Beach), paralleling Ocean Drive and drawing some 11 million visitors a year, is where the trendy, tanned, sexy, rich, and young play to excess. Put your sexy on and get naughty at top clubs like Mansion, Prive, the Delano, or the Suite. We don't have a perfect recipe for getting past the ropes at the clubs du jour, but you'd do well to arrive early before the real action kicks in, say around 11 to midnight; dress up in something trendy and chic but not over-the-top; be ultra-nice to the buffed and beautiful doorman with the list; and bring as much money as you're willing to spend for an evening's entertainment.
