Fodor's Review:

This eight-block-long pedestrian mall is home to more than 150 shops, 20-plus art galleries and nightclubs, about 50 restaurants and cafés, and the renovated Colony Theatre. Tiffany & Co. was one of the first of the exclusive boutiques here in the 1940s, when Lincoln Road was known as the Fifth Avenue of the South. Although the Tiffany's outpost is long gone, today an 18-screen movie theater anchors the west end of the street, which is where most of the worthwhile shops are; the far east end is mostly discount and electronic shops. Sure, there's a Pottery Barn, a Gap, and a Williams-Sonoma, but the emphasis is on emporiums with unique personalities, like En Avance, Chroma, Base, and Jonathan Adler. Do as the locals do, and meander along "the Road" day or night, stopping for a refreshment at one of the top-flight bistros or open-air eateries.
