$$$-$$$$, American, South Beach/Miami Beach
Fodor's Review:
Ocean views, check. Bustling people-watching scene, double check. It's undeniably beautiful, done almost entirely in white -- linens, candles, and original terrazzo floor -- and seems out of place on a tacky block of Ocean Drive. Designed by executive chef Tom Perron, the progressive American fare is innovative without being overwhelming. Diners come here for a relaxed, "I'm on vacation!" atmosphere, and the sumptuous steak and seafood dishes. 1220 is ideal for long, romantic, drawn-out dining experiences (the crispy yellowtail snapper and New York strip steak are divine), or happy hour bites like oysters and Caesar salads.
