$$$$, Estero Island (Fort Myers Beach)
Fodor's Review:
This 12-story, all-suites resort sits on the beach, and many rooms, especially those on higher floors, have stunning views. Units are done in rich fall tones but show a little wear and tear. Each has a living room with queen-size sleeper sofa, a separate bedroom, and a kitchenette. The well-organized children's programs include everything from crafts to scavenger hunts to sand golf. Pros: right on beach, walking distance to Times Square, kitchen facilities. Cons: heavy foot and car traffic, very small fitness center, not the best value on the beach.
