Across from the Museum of Art in an old five-and-dime that still has its circa 1936 McCrory logo carved on the facade, all-American guffaws at this live musical comedy review target politics, sports, and celebrity machinations. Entrance, $45 to $49.50 for reserved tiered circular seating surrounding the stage, covers show, house salad, and entrées like beef tenderloin and teriyaki salmon. Appetizers, desserts, and libations such as the Laffing Martini ($8.95) are extra. Laffing Matterz thinks nothing of spoofing itself along with patrons, promising that although it's fine to dress casual, you might get stares if you show up in bathing suits. Geared toward grown-ups, there's no kid's menu.
