Rosemary Beach

Towns, Seaside and Rosemary Beach

Fodor's Review:

Farther east down Highway 30A is Rosemary Beach, a fledgling development that is, like eleventy-million other new coastal communities, a variation on the theme pioneered by Seaside's founders. A few restaurants and shops have opened, and a super-luxe boutique hotel is under construction, so investors are snatching up the snazzy beach houses as fast as they're built (in many cases, even before they are built). Despite the growth, the focus here is still on preserving the local environment (the landscape is made up completely of indigenous plants) and maintaining its small-town appeal. You can already see a nascent sense of community sprouting at the Town Green, a perfect patch of manicured lawn fronting the beach, where locals gather with their wineglasses to toast the sunset.
