Cabins at Grayton Beach State Park

Fodor's Review:

Back-to-nature enthusiasts and families like the stylish accommodations set among the sand pines and scrub oaks of this pristine state park. The two-bedroom duplexes (each named after a different species of tree found in the park) have tin roofs, white trim, and tropical wooden window louvers, and the beach is a leisurely five-minute walk away via a private boardwalk. Modern conveniences include central heat and air-conditioning and full-size kitchens complete with pots and pans. There is no daily maid service -- fresh linens are provided, however -- and no room phones or televisions, but gas fireplaces, barbecue grills, and screen porches add a homey touch. They're often booked solid as much as 11 months in advance, but call to check for cancellations.

  • Hotel Details: 30 cabins
  • In-room: no phone, kitchen, no TV.
  • Credit Cards: AE, MC, V
