Chef Cesare Lanfranconi spent several years in the kitchen at Galileo, Washington's best Italian restaurant, before starting the sleek, sophisticated Tosca with restaurateur Paolo Sacco. The food draws heavily from Lanfranconi's native Lake Como region but isn't limited by it. Former standouts include polenta topped with wild mushrooms and a tasty ravioli stuffed with ricotta and crushed amaretto cookies. Save room for dessert, particularly the chef's version of tiramisu, served in a martini glass.
