$$, New American, Arlington
Fodor's Review:
Whether you eat at the bustling bar or in the dining room upstairs, you'll find an imaginative, generous interpretation of modern American cooking. Start with the blue crab fritter or the house-made potato chips drizzled with blue cheese, then move on to entrées such as pecan-crusted trout, veal meat loaf, and roast pork tenderloin with a citrus glaze. The warm flourless chocolate-macadamia nut waffle with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge sauce has become a local classic. You can even buy a loaf of the bread at the restaurant's own bakery, the Best Buns Bread Company, next door.
