Equinox

$$$$, American, Downtown

User Rating: ***** 4.6

Fodor's Review:

Virginia-born chef-owner Todd Gray looks to area purveyors for hard-to-find heirloom and local foodstuffs at his low-key American eatery. The furnishings and the food are simple and elegant. The fresh ingredients speak for themselves: grilled quail with a truffle reduction, rare duck breast served on a cabbage salad, crab cakes with diced mango, and barbecued salmon with a sauce of roasted peppers and corn. There are three fixed-price multicourse dinners; an à la carte menu ($$) is available at lunch.

Superb!

This place is not very big - but the service and food are outstanding. I have eaten here 4 or 5 times, and always been blown away. A very nice place for special occasions - or romance.
