$$, French, Adams-Morgan
Fodor's Review:
On a block in Adams-Morgan where restaurants seem to open and close weekly, La Fourchette has stayed in business for nearly a quarter of a century by offering good bistro food at reasonable prices. Most of the menu consists of daily specials such as venison with shallots and pepper sauce, chicken in beurre blanc, or sweetbreads in a mushroom-cream sauce. This place looks as a bistro should, with an exposed-brick wall, a tin ceiling, bentwood chairs, and vaguely postimpressionist murals.
