Bardia's New Orleans Café

¢-$, Southern, Adams-Morgan

User Rating: ***** 4.6

Fodor's Review:

Locals swarm to this cozy café, where great food is accompanied by jazz. Seafood, whether batter fried, blackened, or sautéed, is always a winner. The house favorite is the blackened catfish. Po'boy sandwiches (subs on French bread) are reasonably priced, fresh, and huge. Breakfast items, served all day, include traditional eggs Benedict or eggs New Orleans, with fried oysters, crabmeat, and hollandaise: they're both delicious. Don't leave without trying the outstanding beignets (fried puffs of dough sprinkled with powdered sugar).

Great ambiance makes you feel at home even if you're from New York

Between the hospitality of the owner and the warmth of the place in general as well as the food and the way it is prepared as well as the specials that vary from day to day or at least every couple of days, the place is a favorite in Adams-Morgan.
