Fodor's Review:

Celebrating African-American literary heritage in a guesthouse is the brainchild of Essence editor-turned-hotelier Monique Greenwood, and the result is DC's best place to curl up with a good book. Rooms named for authors feature collections of their work, and individual decor meant to evoke their spirits. The Langston Hughes suite channels its namesake's 1920s style with a massive antique writing desk, while Toni Morrison's love of Africa is reflected in fabrics and designs in the room that bears her name. The bright-red and glamorous Zora Neale Hurston room features a sexy two-person Jacuzzi tub.
