$$, New American, Chinatown
Fodor's Review:
PS 7's. This restaurant manages to be at once swanky yet youthful and its bar scene is hip but low-key, with inventive cocktails and nibbles like tuna tartare sliders, fried oysters with souffléd bacon mousse, and veal "chips." In the elegant sunken dining room, the menu reads like a tasting menu and the portions are tiny. The diner calls the shots. Veal is done three ways -- a cheek, sweetbreads, the loin -- all in petite portions. And the place is not without a touch of whimsy courtesy of portholelike fish tanks filled with goldfish in the restrooms. ->
