$$, Austrian, Georgetown
Fodor's Review:
Forget all the clichés about heavy Austrian fare served by waiters in lederhosen. Leopold's is about as Euro trendy as it gets with an all-day coffee and drinks bar, an architecturally hip dining space, and a chic little patio complete with a spewing minifountain. Food is pared down Mitteleuropean: wine soup, crisp Wiener schnitzel paired with peppery greens, a spaetzle casserole that tastes like luxe mac 'n' cheese. In the middle of design-obsessed Cady's Alley, the café draws both an artsy crowd of the city that's content to sit and watch the scene evolve, just like it's done in Europe.
