$$-$$$, French, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
French powerhouse chef Michel Richard has set up camp downtown with this semi-casual bistro offering up Franco-American spin-offs like fried chicken, leek and mussel chowder, and a ginger-flecked tuna burger. Rows of hams hang in a glass case. Light fixtures are subtly stamped with the word "Central." A jazzy portrait of Richard (think Andy Warhol) stares down from one wall. The mood is playful and low key. Cocktails flow. So does champagne. And there are even a few carryovers from Richard's more formal Citronelle in Georgetown like "Le Kit Kat," the chef's take on a Kit Kat bar.
