$$$, Steamboat Springs
Fodor's Review:
Rustic, knotty pine, leather furniture, quilts on the beds, and panoramic views of the Yampa Valley make the inn a good choice for folks looking to stay somewhere that feels like a mountain lodge at slightly lower-than-ski-resort prices. Each room has sliding doors that let you step out into the mountain air and onto a common balcony. It's located near the shuttle and bus services to the ski area and town. Continental breakfast, including make-your-own waffles, is included. Pros: magnificent views, even from the pool and particularly in fall; reasonable rates. Con: pool not always heated.
