The city's windswept Pacific shore stretches for miles. Here you'll also find Lincoln Park, with breathtaking clifftop views of the beloved Lands End trail and the art-filled Palace of the Legion of Honor; the San Francisco Zoo; and the Cliff House restaurant, where folks have been enjoying the view of the Pacific sunset for more than 100 years. The Great Highway, a 3-mi ocean-side stretch favored by joggers, lines Ocean Beach. This isn't southern California, though; it's rarely warm enough even to sunbathe here. Only diehard surfers make regular use of the beach, though on temperate summer evenings bonfires freckle the sand.
