Sleepy-headed locals turn up at Rose's for the breakfast pizza of ham, eggs, and fontina; house-baked scones and muffins; or soft polenta with mascarpone and jam. Midday is time for a roasted chicken and fontina sandwich or pizza topped with porcini and ricotta. Evening hours find customers eating their way through pasta with clams and fennel, a sirloin steak, or maybe steamed mussels. Seating is in comfortable booths, at tables, and at a counter. At the outside tables, overhead heaters keep you toasty when the temperature dips. Expect long lines for Sunday brunch.
