Fodor's Review:
This restaurant's mind-numbing namesake is conspicuously absent from its wine list. But even without the Green Fairy, Absinthe pulls in the city's social set with choice bottles and plush banquettes. Cold seafood platters, coq au vin, and duck confit recall a Paris brasserie. The menu also weaves in some American and Italian dishes -- a burger, a Caesar salad, squid-ink risotto -- among the Gallic. The late-night bar menu -- oysters, croque monsieur, croque madame (grilled ham-and-cheese sandwiches), and steak frites -- fuels neighborhood night owls.
