Fodor's Review:
The location is key to this hotel's popularity: it's within walking distance of Ghirardelli Square, the Cannery, Pier 39, Aquatic Park, and the docks for Alcatraz ferries and bay cruises. It's also across the street from a cable-car turnaround. Moderately sized rooms with dark-wood furniture have double-pane windows to keep out the often considerable street noise. Each floor has a laundry room. In the North Point Lounge, a domed Tiffany skylight with a seashore motif crowns a large, comfy lounge area with a fireplace and fountain.
