Fodor's Review:
This Napa Valley-inspired hotel two blocks from Union Square has inviting rooms named after California wineries. Some have sunny window seats, and all have large writing desks, dark-wood venetian blinds, and steam heat. Bathrooms are small, some with tub-showers and some with stall showers. The Wine Country theme extends to complimentary local vintages served nightly in front of the fireplace in the chocolate-color lobby, where long couches invite lingering. For fine food, book a table at the adjoining Masa's, one of the city's most celebrated French restaurants.
