The Mosser

$$, SoMa

Fodor's Review:

Originally built by patron of the arts Alice Phelan in 1913 as the Keystone, this property was purchased in 1981 by composer Charles W. Mosser and completely renovated in 2003, resulting in a comfortable fusion of contemporary decor with the original Victorian architecture. Recent upgrades include the newly replaced elevator, double-pane windows and flat-screen TVs added to each room. Adjacent is the Studio Paradiso, offering state-of-the-art recording equipment and expert technical staff, and the musical theme extends to the handsomely framed lithographs of recording equipment in the rooms. Tastefully decorated in geometrical patterns of either olive green or dusty fuchsia, 75% of the rooms have tiled private baths with deep tubs, and 25% offer clean, convenient shared facilities on each floor. A continental breakfast is available for $9.95 next door in Annabelle's Bar & Bistro, which also serves contemporary California-style cuisine for lunch and dinner.
