¢-$, American, Middletown
Fodor's Review:
That Hob Nob never seems to change suits San Diego just fine; this is the type of place where regulars delight in ordering the same meal they've been ordering for 20 years. With its dark-wood booths and patterned carpets, the restaurant seems suspended in the 1950s, but you don't need to be a nostalgia buff to appreciate the bargain-price American home cooking -- dishes such as oat-raisin French toast, fried chicken, and corned beef like your mother never really made. The crowds line up morning, noon, and night. Reservations are suggested for Sunday breakfast.
