No, it's not a flashback. The 1960s live on at this fabulously funky burger joint founded in that era: an unrepentant hippy crowd sees to it. Walls are covered with license plates, and the amiable servers with tattoos. Still, this is very much a family place, and Hodad's clientele often includes toddlers and octogenarians. Burgers are the thing, loaded with onions, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and condiments, and so gloriously messy that you might wear a swimsuit so you can stroll to the beach for a bath afterward. The mini-hamburger is good, the double bacon cheeseburger absolutely awesome.

This great beach burger joint was great!!! We were probably the oldest customers there, but it was by far the best burger we've eaten in ages!!! We highly recommend stopping by Hodad's for a bite...plus, shirt and tie not required!
