The quintessential breakfast place, this decades-old Chula Vista landmark is 10 minutes south of downtown San Diego, and two blocks east of the E Street exit from I-5. Despite the motto "It's Always Pancake Time," Aunt Emma's serves from 6 AM to 3 PM only, when it bustles with people from every walk of life. The first menu item -- fluffy, butter-drenched buttermilk pancakes -- is as far as many guests read. Besides 20 pancake varieties -- including mango crêpes -- Aunt Emma's offers waffles, egg dishes, and Mexican specialties. The lunch menu includes burgers and sandwiches.

This place is awful! A few years ago my sister, son and I went to lunch at Aunt Emma's and wwe all ordered chicken sandwiches. They didn't have any choices of bread (even though the menu stated 4 kinds), the chicken was rubbery, tasteless, they only had one kind of soft drink, the pickles and olives on the side were old. I can't believe this place is in business!!

I cant get enough of those cakes. This restarunt has only gotten better over the years. I hope that we can enjoy this place for another 50 years...
