The beautiful landscape at this 44-acre resort on Vacation Isle has been the setting for a number of movies. The botanical gardens have ponds, waterfalls, footbridges, waterfowl, and more than 600 varieties of tropical plants, a convincing backdrop for the Balinese spa. Many recreation activities are offered and there's access to a marina. The rooms' bright fabrics and plush carpets are cheery; unfortunately, the walls here are motel-thin.

For $300+ a night we were expecting much more (like the photos on the website). When we FINALLY found our room, there was only 1 bed for a party of 4. The front desk wasn't much help and kept insisting WE had requested that type of bedding arrangement. The bungalows were old, bathroom had holes along the baseboards, etc. Our family was disappointed...BIG TIME! Needless to say, we checked out 2 days early and found a moderate hotel across the street from a beach with 2 double beds and accomodating staff members for 1/2 the price.
