Fodor's Review:
One of the few San Diego hotels actually on the beach, La Jolla Shores is located at La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. There's a great beach scene here: you can stroll past launching kayakers, scuba divers, and locals walking their dogs, and you may even catch a swimsuit fashion shoot. Reflecting San Diego's Spanish past, the hotel's palms, fountains, red-tile roofs, and Mexican tile work lend character to the low-lying compound, which could use some interior updating, however. Hair dryers, coffeemakers, and irons are included. Tennis lessons are available.
