Best Western Island Palms Hotel & Marina
$$$-$$$$,
Shelter Island
User Rating: *** 3.4
Fodor's Review:
This waterfront inn, with an airy lobby brightened by skylights, is a good choice if you have a boat to dock: the adjacent marina has guest slips. Both harbor- and marina-view rooms are available. Standard accommodations are fairly small; if you're traveling with family or more than one friend, the two-bedroom suites with kitchens are a good deal.

Good renovations - could have gone further

Our suite was obviously updated. A lot of nice features - bathroom vanity was gorgeous, but when you turned around the shower and tile on the opposite wall were old & dated. Cheap, brown, synthetic "old hotel" type bedspreads were over comfortable beds, and the kitchen was nice but only updated through painting old cabinets. Nice, but not enough. Good view in a nice setting, Shelter Island seemed safe and good for walks. Wooden "decks" to get upstairs a little rough & "rustic". Employees great and a nice restaurant on site.
