Surfer Beach Hotel

Fodor's Review:

Choose this place for its great location -- right on bustling Pacific Beach. Guest rooms were updated in 2006 in simple, mid-century modern style and include pillow-top beds, upholstered headboards, and retro accents. Most have balconies, but get a higher room to take advantage of the ocean view. The slightly larger junior suites have leather sofas for lounging and wet bars with microwaves, refrigerators, and coffeemakers. While the two-bedroom Sunset suite has bare bones decor, it includes a full kitchen and large sun deck that's perfect for warm-weather get-togethers. Take a break from the crowds on the beach and relax by the hotel's outdoor swimming pool. World Famous, the on-site restaurant, specializes in seafood and steaks and also serves up breakfast and lunch with an ocean view.
