Fodor's Review:
La Jolla's newest resort was once the site of a famous equestrian ranch, Blackhorse Farms, where thoroughbreds were trained. This coastal hotel has a rustic elegance, rambling California rancho-style architecture, and courtyards with bubbling fountains. Rooms have marble baths and come with robes and slippers and 24-hour room service. The resort offers free high-speed and wireless Internet, a pool with private cabanas, and a spa where guests can be pampered with an outdoor massage in a private garden of eucalyptus, citrus, and lavender. Besides spa packages, the resort offers golf getaways at the nearby Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Great Escape

My friend and I did an overnight stay here on our way to a business convention in downtown San Diego. We should have booked our stay at the end of our trip instead of the front because we didn't want to leave. Beautiful facility, great service, tranquil ambiance. Only drawback was difficult to get a cab since it is out of the way, rent a car.Overrated

Lots of hidden costs; not on a par with other resorts. Choose La Costa or Aviara instead.
