Warner Bros. Studios

Fodor's Review:

If you're looking for a more authentic behind-the-scenes look at how films and TV shows are made, head to this major studio center. There aren't many bells and whistles here, but you'll get a much better idea of production work than you will at Universal Studios. The two-hour tours involve a lot of walking, so dress comfortably and bring plenty of sunscreen. You start with a short film on Warner Bros. movies and TV shows, then hop into a tour cart for a ride to the studio museum. The archives here include costumes, props, and scripts from the studio's productions, including the sitcom Friends and the Harry Potter movies. Finally you'll visit the sets and soundstages, where you might spot a celeb or see a shoot in action – tours change from day to day depending on the productions taking place on the lot. Reservations are required. Call at least one week in advance and ask about provisions for people with disabilities; children under 8 are not admitted. Tours are given at least every hour, more frequently from May to September.

  • Cost: $42
  • Open: Weekdays 8:30–4
