Here, in the center of Culver City's burgeoning restaurant district, a couple veterans from posh hotel kitchens have turned out the kind of fast food your mom, accountant, and nutritionist would unanimously approve of -- emphasizing health and value without compromising quality. After you stand in line for a bit, your salad (e.g., ahi tuna Niçoise with Dijon vinaigrette, chipotle barbecue chicken with creamy lime dressing) is tossed in front of you in a big metallic bowl and plated with perfectly grilled meats or fish. Enjoy it with homemade lemonade on the sidewalk patio.

This place was everything I expected. It's menu was simple, but incredibly fresh, per the moniker Tender Greens. I had the chicken and tomato soup, and my dining partner got the steak. Both entres came with salads of your choice. The beer list was sparse, but each choice strong and would go well with the meal. Highly suggested for date night!
