Fodor's Review:
Don't let its nondescript minimal location deter you: relatively undiscovered Asanebo is one of L.A.'s finest Japanese restaurants. Once strictly a sashimi bar, this congested but inviting establishment introduced top-quality sushi to satisfy increasing local demand and also offers a wealth of innovative dishes. The affable chefs will introduce you to memorable specialties such as a caviar-topped lobster cocktail and succulent seared toro drizzled with a light garlic cream.

This place serves the freshest fish and crustaceans, on a consistent basis. Try to sit at the counter so you can watch how sushi should be prepared.

overpriced for good to mediocre sushi, unfriendly chef, there are much better sushi bars in Studio City, like Sushi Katsu-Ya, which is not a pricey & has much better sushi & a friendlier atmosphere
