Hotels, Pasadena
Fodor's Review:
One block south of Colorado Boulevard stands the onetime social center of Pasadena's elite. This Moorish building is the only remaining section of a turn-of-the-20th-century hotel complex. Today the often-filmed tower (see The Sting, Edward Scissorhands, The Last Samurai, The Prestige) is residential; local painter R. Kenton Nelson can often be spotted at work in his turret art studio along Raymond Avenue. The building is not open to the public on a daily basis, but it does organize seasonal tours on the first Sundays of December and June.
