Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA)

Fodor's Review:

At this writing, MoLAA was undergoing a massive renovation and expansion – when finished in 2007, it should be an even more impressive destination. It's the only museum on the West Coast devoted exclusively to contemporary art from Mexico and Central and South America; the permanent collection rotates and temporary shows cycle through, so there's always something new to see. The expansion will add an educational art studio, a research library, a film screening room, and an outdoor sculpture garden with creations by Latin American artists. The museum gift store is an especially good one, with carved masks, textiles, and other work by local and Latin American artists. Admission includes an informative audio tour.
