Fodor's Review:

Originally developed in 1880 as an open-air farmers' market, this 114-acre public space hosted Olympic festivities in 1932 and 1984 in conjunction with the adjacent Memorial Coliseum and Sports Arena. The park includes a lovely sunken rose garden and three museums, the California African-American Museum, California Science Center, and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Unfortunately, though, the park and neighborhood become sketchy at night, so it's wise to leave once the museums close.
