Music Clubs, West Hollywood
Fodor's Review:
The House of Blues is a club that functions like a concert venue, hosting popular jazz, rock, and blues performers such as Etta James, Lou Rawls, Joe Cocker, Cheap Trick, Pete Townshend, and the Commodores. Avoid industry idiots who prefer talking to listening by skipping the tables and bar areas for the central open floor. Occasional shows are presented cabaret style and include dinner in the restaurant area upstairs; you can sort of see from some of it. Every Sunday there's a gospel brunch.
