Kodak Theatre

Fodor's Review:

Follow the path of red-carpet Hollywood royalty to the home of the Academy Awards. While taking a half-hour tour of this famous setting isn't cheap, it's a worthwhile expense for movie buffs who just can't get enough insider information. The tour guides share plenty of behind-the-scenes tidbits about Oscar ceremonies as they take you through the theater. You'll get to step into the VIP George Eastman Lounge, where celebrities mingle on the big night and get a bird's-eye view from the balcony seating. (Be sure to ask how Oscar got his name.) The interior design was inspired by European opera houses, but underneath all the trimmings, the space has some of the finest technical systems in the world. Although you may not make it in for the Oscar show itself, you can always come here for a musical or concert performance by the likes of Alicia Keys or the Dixie Chicks.
