Zucca

$$-$$$, Italian, Downtown

User Rating: *** 3.2

Fodor's Review:

Here superchef-restaurateur Joachim Splichal turns his attention to Italian cuisine, leavening sophistication with earthy flavors. The Murano glass chandeliers and mural of a Venetian carnival scene energize a seductive but noisy dining room. You can opt for dishes like pumpkin tortelloni -- zucca, after all, is squash in Italian -- with butter-sage sauce, osso buco, and a whole Mediterranean-style branzino (sea bass). Hit this spot for good pretheater dining.

Classy Italian

Exceptional ingredient quality and presentation was well done. Wood oven pizza was good as an appetizer. Very strange room - huge ceilings and large paintings - they need to downsize to make it more intimate and less airport hangerish. Waiters seemed bored with the lack of customers on a week day night.
