$$-$$$, American, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
A restored 1912 fire station, where everything -- even the original brass sliding pole -- has been preserved, now rushes out solid, old-fashioned comfort food. The long bar is a popular hangout for downtown workers delaying their rush-hour commute. The kitchen does a fine job with crab cakes, chili, macaroni and cheese, and thick slabs of terrific meat loaf. Specials showcase recipes inspired by firehouse cooking across the country.
