Gaige House Inn

$$$$, Glen Ellen

User Rating: ***** 4.8

Fodor's Review:

Gorgeous orchids and Asian objets d'art are just a few of the little luxuries in this understated B&B. Rooms in the main house, an 1890 Queen Anne, are mostly done in pale colors and each has its advantages. An upstairs room has wraparound windows to let in floods of light, for instance, while a smaller downstairs room opens onto the pool area. The most lavish rooms are in the eight cottages. These have a pronounced Japanese influence, with massive granite soaking tubs overlooking a private atrium. In addition to the main pool and hot tub, surrounded by magnolia trees, a second, private hot tub is available to those who sign up. Though the staffers are helpful, service never seems fussy, and there's a bottomless jar of cookies offered in the kitchen.

What a Pleasure!

We stayed for three nights in one of the rooms overlooking the creek. We felt so pampered. The room was fabulous and the service was great! The breakfasts are not to be missed (and do include bread now - see comment below.) One word of warning - the ownership has changed hands and, although the innkeeper remains the same, things might change. I hope not as the Gaige House Inn is a winner!

Total luxury and relaxation in Sonoma County

Posted by Patrick from Chicago, IL on 10/28/05

We have stayed here twice and would go back again every year if we could. The gourmet breakfast and late afternoon wine tastings are great touches, and the rooms are beautiful. Not cheap, but a top-flight B&B.

This was our favorite place of our three night stay in Sonoma/Napa. The cabins were beautifully decorated with lots of great ammenities - double showers, large granite tub, open air atrium with fountain, fireplace, flat screen tv, very comfortable bed, private patio - very relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was very helpful with assiting us in planning our days and meals. We will be back!
