A sister property of Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford, this posh resort shares a similar wide-open-spaces feel. Spacious cedar-shingle bungalows throughout the wooded property have outdoor living areas, and even the restaurant, spa, and reception area have outdoor seating areas and fireplaces. Though the service is friendly and the lodges are luxurious, with sybaritic outdoor showers in every room, the overall result still has a casual ranchlike feel rather than the refined sheen of some similarly priced places.

From start to finish a class act. The service was beyond any expectations I had. Every aspect of your stay is taken to the next level... from the bedding to the minibar to the on-site spa to the turndown treats... I can't say enough about this place. It does cost a lot ... but is worth it for a special, special treat. I felt like Oprah!RATING: 4.8
