$$$-$$$$, Seafood, West Vancouver
Fodor's Review:
Perched halfway up a mountain, this restaurant has stunning water and city views by day and expansive vistas of city lights by night. It's best known for its alder-grilled salmon, though the grilled oysters, British Columbia prawns, and selections from the "Uniquely B.C." menu -- three courses with ingredients locally sourced -- are also tempting (you can opt for companion pairings of B.C. wines as well). The Northwest Coast First Nations-theme interior is tastefully done, though it can hardly compete with what's outside the windows. The Salmon House is about 30 minutes from Vancouver by car (depending on traffic). Go over the Lions Gate Bridge and take the Folkestone Way exit off Highway 1 west.
