$-$$, Chinese, Chinatown
Fodor's Review:
The room may be weathered and austere (the color palate runs from gray to beige), but you're here for a classic, family-style Chinese dining experience in one of North America's largest and most authentic Chinatowns. Here, it's all about that tiny Szechuan pepper. Try hot and sour soup, guilty-pleasure fried spring rolls, House Special Noodle (thick lo mein with all the fixins), garlicky Asian eggplant, and most importantly, their signature crunchy shredded ginger beef that's at once sweet, spicy, and meaty.
