What was once a dowdy, outdated downtown office building is now a sleek, luxurious boutique hotel. The earth-tone rooms showcase Québec-designed bedroom and bathroom furnishings in dark, dense tropical woods. Leather armchairs add a traditional feel. All rooms have individual sound systems and huge flat-screen TVs; some have grand views of Mont-Royal or the skyscrapers along avenue du Président-Kennedy. If you need more space, there is also a pair of two-story apartments. Pros: quiet location in the heart of downtown; near McGill University. Con: slow room service.
