$$$$, French, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
In the best French tradition, Guy runs the kitchen and wife Dodo handles the front room, although Guy wanders out occasionally to chat with customers and listen to complaints and compliments. The decor's classic, too -- pale yellow walls hung with impressionist prints and photos of Paris -- as is the cooking. The daily table d'hôte menu is the best bet, with openers such as lobster bisque followed by sweetbreads with mushrooms or lobster poached with champagne. For dessert try the tarte tatin (apples and caramel with crème anglaise). In summer, diners spill out onto a little terrace on rue Metcalfe.
