$$$, Contemporary, Edmonton
Fodor's Review:
In a historic building in the heart of downtown, this restaurant has coffered ceilings, hardwood floors, and original brick that lend it a relaxed feel. The main dining room's central fireplace certainly makes things homey. From an open kitchen, chef Shonn Oborowsky and his team serve up specialties like Alberta Black Angus beef tenderloin and short rib with morel sauce, hazelnut crusted rack of lamb with apple cider and apricot jus, and glazed ahi tuna with ratatouille and roasted garlic. Be sure to save room for dessert, which includes such items as homemade blackberry ice cream. The restaurant received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the wine list featuring more than 400 labels from around the world. For a more private dining experience, ask for the elevator room, a private table set up in the building's original warehouse elevator. Reservations are recommended.
