Hotel Los Capitanes Eco-resort Review

This quiet hotel on the northern side of the valley, owned by a retired German sea captain, offers spacious, time-worn rooms surrounded by verdant grounds at competitive rates. Rooms are pretty basic, with red-cement floors and white-stucco walls, cane furniture, and corrugated metal ceilings. The nicest standard rooms are on the left in the back, since they have small terraces from which you can admire Cerro Gaital. Family suites are spacious, semicircular structures with bedroom lofts, lots of furniture (including rocking chairs), and wrap-around balconies with great views. The octagonal restaurant ($–$$) serves good German and Panamanian dishes. They offer day trips and overnights at the remote and rustic Rio Indiio Lodge, in the forest above town.
